100 Tons of Galvalume Steel Coil to Fiji

100 Tons of Galvalume Steel Coil to Fiji

This order of galvalume steel coil was for a regular customer of ours in Fiji. They are a steel distributor and these galvalume coils are for a customer of theirs that makes roofing. These 100 tons were shipped out to Fiji on 15 January 2013.

Galvalume Steel Coil for Roofing

Upon its arrival in Fiji the galvalume steel coil will be processed and made into steel roofing panels. For roofing, it is of course very important that the aluminum zinc level is suitable for outdoor environment where the steel is subjected to plenty of onslaught from the natural elements.

That is why our Fiji customer always orders his galvalume coil with 150grams/sqm alu-zinc coating. Galvalume steel is considered a better option than simply galvanized steel for making roofing because of its increased anti corrosive properties.

This customer ordered a lot of coils from us in 2012 since the Chinese price was quite favorable then.

Other than ensuring the galvalume level is no lower than 150grams/sqm, the other special requirement our Fiji customer has is that the galvalume coil cannot have any minus tolerance, otherwise they would have problems in the pressing and production of the roofing.

More About the Order

The full 100 tons was all made up of one size: 0.4mm x 940mm x C. The steel grade was ASTM A792 G550, anti-finger print and regular spangle.

We make sure his product is top notch by sourcing it from a top state mill that does not compromise on quality. Ordering this type of product from a private mill would never be recommended since many private mills will compromise on both the aluzinc coating and the thickness tolerances.

100 Tons of Galvanized Angle Iron to Australia

100 Tons of Galvanized Angle Iron to Australia

This shipment of galvanized angle iron was for a regular customer of ours based in Perth, Australia. This customer is a fabricator and orders from us regularly so we work with flexible payment terms such as L/C 90 days.

Other than galvanized angle iron they also buy H-beam and flat bar. The steel is all to be used for large construction projects in Australia.

The order comprised of a mixture of equal and unequal galvanized angles in grade Q345B. The sizes were as follows:

Equal galvanized angle iron: 75x75x8mm in 9m lengths
Unequal galvanizes angle iron: 124x75x6mm in 9m lengths; 150x90x8mm in 7m lengths

To galvanize the angles we first got the black angle iron produced in Tangshan and then transported it to Mrs Wang???s galvanizing plant in Beijing. Click here to see how we make Australian standard galvanized angle iron in Mrs Wang???s plant.

For these two thicknesses of gi angles the required standard specifies that the zinc coating is greater than and no less than 600grams per square meter. To achieve this level of zinc coating the black angle iron is dunked in the 12meter molten zinc bath for three and a half minutes.

100 Tons of H Beam to Australia

Chinese H Beam Heading for Australia

We source this customer???s H beam from a reliable state mill that often produces H beam made to Australian specifications so we can ensure they receive tight product every time.

A major issue with sourcing section steel from China is ensuring the sizes are close to Australian standards, i.e. nice and tight. There are few Chinese steel suppliers who can ensure thicknesses, widths and webs are spot on.

Because Australia has its own special steel standards it can also sometimes be difficult to find suitable Chinese steel grade comparisons.

Q345B is fortunately very similar to Australian standard G350. This Australian customer has made many orders of Q345B steel and is satisfied with the performance of the steel.

Other than H beam, this particular Australian customer also orders angle iron, galvanized angle iron and flat bar.

H Beam Sizes

These four containers of H beam, totaling 100 tons, were made up of two different sizes:

  1. 200 x 100 x 5.5 x 8mm
  2. 175 x 90 x 5 x 8mm

Payment and Shipment

Due to the trusting relationship we have with this customer we worked with TT 100% against B/L copy. The steel beams were shipped out on 8 March 2013.

The H beam will be used for construction purposes.

50 Tons of Galvanized Steel Coil to Thailand

Galvalume Steel Coils for Thailand

Galvanized steel coil is our most exported product.

These 50 tons of DX51D grade GI coil were for our regular customer in Thailand. This customer is an end user that uses galvanized steel coil to make keels.

We have cooperated with them for over one year and a half now and receive regular orders of galvanized coil in 0.4, 0.45, 0.55 and 0.65mm thicknesses.

Galvanized Steel Coil in Stock

Because the steel coil for this order was readily available in stock, after receiving confirmation of the open 30 days LC on 1 February 2023 we were able to prepare the coils and ship them out in just 23 days. The goods set sail for Thailand on 24 February 2013.

When the steel product you require is in stock we can ensure your goods are delivered to the port within 25 days upon receiving deposit payment.

For future goods the average lead-time is 45 days. This only varies majorly when there is a Chinese holiday such as Spring Festival. Rolled steel products like galvanized steel coil are quite easy to schedule with the mills we work with so there is never much of a waiting time for fresh goods.

More About the Order

Getting more down to specifics, this particular order of GI coil had zero spangle, was unoiled and skin passed.

Fun Fact: These days in China you can only order zero or regular spangle. Nobody produces small spangle anymore.

The size was 0.65 x 1250mm x C. This size is regularly produced in China, so the price we can offer you for a width like this is more favorable.

Top Tip: Ordering coil with a width of 1000mm or more will get you the best price. Anything under 1000mm is considered an irregular size in China, is rarely produced and will cost extra to make.

Sometimes smaller widths can be rolled for our customers but MOQ is higher. Alternatively the galvanized steel coils can be processed to make them narrower, however, this also puts the price up due to wastage and processing costs.
